Curtis McMurtry is one of Austin’s favorite singer-songwriters. He and BettySoo are doing a show together. They like each other as people, and they like each other’s songs, so it makes sense that this show is happening. That said, you might be surprised how hard it is to actually find everyone in the same town at the same time with the availability to do a show together! They’ve toured the UK together and have had a lot of laughs driving on the left side of the road and depending upon an iPad’s GPS to get them from one place to another.
Graham Weber was one of the first songwriter pals BettySoo met when she started showing up at the Cactus Cafe to play her first songs for people. Despite the fact that he heard her very first songs, he still agreed to be her friend. They’ve sloshed beers onto bars while mooning over life’s disappointments, and they’ve clinked small glasses of amber to celebrate small victories. She has cooed at photos of his adorable daughter and laughed at his bad dad jokes. Mostly though, they have shared lots of time listening to each other’s songs and loving the heck out of a lot of the same music, so it’s about time they’re doing a real show together. Dear Houston, you should join them.
(oh, are you wondering who that adorable couple is in the photo? those are the hosts: the Stehls. they’re the NICEST PEOPLE EVER, and they COOK AMAZING FOOD)
